About
Author Bio: Survival Is My Superpower

LeAnita Ragland-Brooks is a senior executive, Managing Director, and Vice President who has led strategy and enterprise relationships for global corporations and financial institutions. A former Miss Maryland, she brings the same poise to the boardroom that she brings to life’s most difficult moments. Throughout her career, she has negotiated complex, multi-billion-dollar initiatives, directed high-performing teams, and built strategic partnerships across financial services and healthcare technology. She is known for decisive leadership, clarity under pressure, and the ability to move people and outcomes forward. After being diagnosed with stage III breast cancer and later facing stage IV metastatic disease and lymphoma, LeAnita applied the same discipline she used in corporate leadership to her medical care. She became the CEO of her own treatment plan: building teams, seeking multiple opinions, tracking data, and making informed, courageous decisions. She has been a clinical case study, a research participant, and an advocate for advancing medical understanding, motivated in part by her desire to create a different future for her daughter and the next generation of women. From donating her placenta for stem cell research when her daughter was born to volunteering for ongoing clinical studies today, she has long believed in contributing to progress beyond herself. LeAnita lives her philosophy that survival is not passive, it is deliberate. She continues to speak, mentor, and lead with the conviction that mindset influences physiology, strategy applies to healing, and resilience is built one decision at a time.
